WHAT WE BELIEVE
1. The Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible, as original written, was verbally inspired, and the product of Spirit controlled men, and therefore has truth without mixture of error in its makeup. We believe that it is the true center of Christian union and the only infallible rule for all human conduct ( 2 Tim. 3:26, 27; 2 Pet. 1:19-21)
2. The Godhead
a. We believe that there is only one living and true God, infinite in every excellence; within the unity of the Godhead there are three personal distinctions: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one in substance and equal in every divine perfection. (Ex. 20:2, 3; 1 Cor. 8:6; 1 Jn. 5:7; Rev. 22:13; Eph. 2:18; Cor. 13:14; Isa. 6:1-9; 45:18)
b. We believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, that He was and is divine as no other man can be, being very God of very God, existing from all eternity co-equal with the Father and the Spirit; that He never ceased to be God for one instant; that as a man, He was miraculously begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (Jn 1:1, 2; 1 Jn. 5:20; Matt. 1:20; Lk. 1:26-38; Isa. 7:14; Rom 10:13)
c. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with the Father and Son and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment, bears witness to truth, is the Agent of the New Birth and that He seals, infuses, guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies and helps the believer, indwelling every true child of God. (Eph. 4:30; 1 Cor. 6:19, 20; Eph. 1:13, 14; 2 Cor. 13:14, Jm. 14:16, 17; Rom. 8:14-27)
3. The Fall of Man
We believe that man in the person of the first Adam, was created in innocence but by voluntary transgression fell into sin thus plunging the whole human race into condemnation and death, so that now all of humanity is born in sin and has become willful, practical sinners by choice, and so are without excuse before God. (Gen 3; Ps. 14:1; 58:3; Ecc. 7:20; Isa. 43:27; Rom. 3:9-23; 5:10-19)
4. Atonement for Sin
We believe that the only escape from the condemnation of sin is through the atonement of Jesus Christ when He voluntarily took upon Him a human body and nature, yet without sin, and by His suffering, death and resurrection, made full satisfaction to the justice of God for the sin of man; that the blessings of this salvation are given on the grounds of grace to all who believe and confess Christ. (Jn. 3:16; 14:6; 1:29; 10:11-18; 1:1-3; 3:1-7; Acts 16:30-33; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Rom. 5:21; 2 Cor. 5:18, 19; Gal. 4:4,5; Eph. 1:7; Phil. 1:7; Col. 1:14; 1:19-22; Heb. 10:4-14)
5. Salvation
a. We believe that faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition for salvation from sin and this salvation is wholly by grace; that no works, however good, make that salvation more secure. (Matt. 1:21; 16:31; Rom. 10:9-13; 1 Cor. 3:11; Gal. 2:16; 3:11; Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:5-7)
b. We believe that all who take Christ as their savior are born again and are eternally secure in Christ. (Jn. 10:28; Rom. 8:35-39; 1 Cor. 3:16; Eph. 4:30; 1:13,14; Phil. 1:8) 6. Resurrection
6. Resurrection
a. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and His presence there for us as our High Priest and Advocate. (1 Pet. 1:3-5; 1 Jn. 1:1,2; Heb 8:1; 9:24-26; 1 Cor. 11:23-32)
b. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and everlasting conscious punishment of the unsaved. (Job 10:2-22; Jn. 5:28,29; rev. 20:12-15; 1 Cor. 6:4; rom. 5:12; Jn. 5:21; Jn. 11:23; Acts 2:39; Phil. 3:10-13)
